Bay Park - Open Letter to Nassau County Legislature

To: The Nassau County Legislature:

This is to advise you that the Park Advocacy & Recreation Council of Nassau (PARCnassau) is adamantly opposed to the county entering into a Occupancy & Use agreement with Molloy College, giving them virtually exclusive use of the athletic Fields in Bay Park for up to 30 years. This not in the public interest and only serves to alienate thousands of sportsmen and women who use these fields each year. Molloy currently uses a number of fields to practice and play their NCAA sports including Mitchell Field. They must share these facilities with all the other leagues and teams vying for athletic venues. Let them continue to do so.

Upgrading Bay Park is a wonderful goal. Let the county use the Environmental Bond Fund for this purpose as it was intended. This is being done with several other parks facilities around the county, why not Bay Park? Please respond with your feelings on this.
